July Favourites!

Hello wonderful people!

Today I have my July favourites!! At first I didn't think I had any favourites this month as I haven't been wearing anywhere near as much make-up on casual days, but I then remembered some very simple but crucial things for this summer month that I have been using pretty much non-stop.

From left to right: Batiste dry shampoo, Barry M silk nail polish, Lush lip scrub,
Nivea lip butter, Rimmel colour rush balm, Soap and glory glow all out.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: Clean and Classic Original 400ml
This shampoo has saved me from quite a few greasy hair disasters as it has been so hot here in England this month (I am as surprised as you are). The smell of this dry shampoo is really nice and clean smelling (as the name suggests) and does really good job of making your hair look as though its just been washed with a bit of volume added without having that white residue left over. I will constantly be repurchasing this over and over again. I bought this from boots for £4.99.

Barry M Silk Nail Polish: Mist
I love love love this shade of nail polish as it is a beautiful pastel blue which is absolutely perfect for this time of year. But because it has a silk finish, it also has a bit of shimmer to it which looks even more beautiful in direct sunlight. This chips after a couple of days which is average for Barry M nail polishes and you need two to three coats to get it opaque. I bought this from superdrug for £3.99.

Lush Lip Scrub: Bubblegum
This lip scrub I really didn't like at first because I thought it was just a bit too harsh on my lips but when it is used in conjunction with a lip butter or lip balm it does wonders. This stuff removes the dead skin from your lips and makes them feel a lot smoother. It is also made mostly of sugar so you can lick it off your lips and I really think it tastes like bubblegum, which is a really nice added bonus. This is a little pricey at £5.50 from Lush but it does go a long way as you only need a little bit at a time. To get the right amount I just press my finger into the scrub instead of trying to scoop some out as I found too much used can be too harsh.

Nivea Lip Butter: Raspberry Rose
I bought this in a desperate moment in February as I had such chapped lips that I was struggling to fall asleep as they were so sore. This is now a beauty gem of mine as it is a very moisturising lip product which keeps my lips in perfect condition, especially when used with the lip scrub mentioned above. But because I have been a bit dehydrated my lips have got slightly chapped but this has completely saved them. This also smells like raspberries which is really nice but slightly artificial smelling. This gem is £2.00 from Morrisons.

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm: Nudest
I love this lip crayon as it is quite moisturising and is really nice nude colour which gives your lips a bit of colour but also makes it look natural which is great for this season. These lip crayons well like vanilla which is quite nice as well. These do however have to be reapplied after an hour or so especially if you have eaten as they do wear off quite quickly. I got this for £5.99 from Superdrug.

Soap and Glory Glow all out
This highlighter is very subtle as it doesn't have any shimmer in it, instead it just has a (as the name suggests) glow! I love using this for a daily use because it is so natural and looks amazing when the sun hits your cheekbones with this on. It does have a slight pinky tone to it but it is not obvious at all. The packaging of this product has had some controversial reviews but I really like it and it does have a satisfying magnetic close so I feel it wouldn't fly open on its own accord. This is £11.00 from boots.

If you have any suggestions for any products you would like me to try out, just mention them in the comments below. Hope you guys enjoyed this post. All Rimmel products are two for £10 online at Superdrug.

Beauty Haul Part 3!

Hello wonderful people!!

So here I have the final part to this haul and can't wait to share it with you guys!

Description starts from left to right

Mad Nails: Nail Suede in Misty Rose
So Topshop was having a sale and so I had a little look and ended up buying a lot of nail polish/nail art. This being one of them. So in the box you get a very pale pink nail polish, pink suede (looks like pink fluff) and a brush to even out the suede across the nail. This could look either look like I've dipped my nails in fluff or it could look really unique in a really good way. I am very sceptical but for £2.00 from £5.00 its worth it.

Nail Rock: Nail Caviar
In this set you get a bright red nail polish with a little tub full of these tiny little red balls. I love this kind of look on nails especially when its just on an accent nail. Can not wait to use this! I also managed to get this from Topshop for £2.00 from RRP: £7.00.

Nail Rock: Texture Manicure
In this set you get a lovely pastel green with a tub of little pieces of what looks like shell which again I love the look of. This kind of design and colour is perfect for this season. I also got this for £2.00 from RRP: £7.00.

Mini Ciate Caviar Manicure duo
This is cheating slightly as I actually got this set free in the Marie Claire magazine where there was a range of 6 coloured sets to choose from but I did pay £2.50 (RRP: £3.90) so I feel I can include it in this haul. I chose a nude coloured pink with fine gold glitter in it with the pearls in similar colours. These colours are ivory queen and teardrop treasure. Such a bargain for £2.50, I really wish I got more.

2True pro Sequins glitter nail polish: Eva
This is beautiful shade of blue but the best thing about this nail polish is that it's jam-packed full of silver and blue glitter. I can't wait to test this out and have my nails gleaming in the sun! I believe this nail polish is slightly textured so if you're not a fan of that this might not be for you but personally I don't mind. I bought this for £4.00 at Superdrug.

Topshop Nails in Hop and Solar
Hop is another beautiful blue colour but a completely different shade of blue to other one. I'm not so good at describing colour shades but if you want to see for yourself, here is the link. This nail polish has very fine silver glitter so another great nail polish to wear when the sun is out. Topshop claims that this is fast drying and extra long wear so I will be looking forward to seeing if this is true. Solar is a duo chrome nail polish that is a gold/pink colour, however when I received it the gold colour in the bottle looks like a yellowly/green colour instead of a gold colour. I just hope this colour doesn't translate on to nails or in most lighting... we will have to see. I got these in a 2 for £9 deal but RRP is £6.00 each from Topshop.

Makeup Revolution Baked Mono Eyesadow: Astral
OMG!!! Makeup revolution ceases to amaze with their products and this is absolutely gorgeous! This is a light coloured purple with pink and silver veining. It translates to a glittery purple colour with a pink undertone that I can't wait to experiment with. Also because it is baked this product can be made more intense when used with a wet brush. Best of all this only costs £1.50 for 3.3g of product! Will definitely be buying more!

Lipsticks aren't exactly my favourite beauty product but I thought I would be a bit more open minded about them and try a few more out.

Makeup Revolution lipstick in sweetheart
Makeup Revolution Lipstick: Sweetheart
The first thing I noticed was that the packaging looks similar to the MUA lipsticks however with a few insignificant differences. The lipstick is a light pink colour that is quite sheer with a balm-like texture. The thing that really let's this product down was that the lid keeps falling off rather easily not making it ideal to sling into my handbag. There is also a cheap lipstick smell to it, but for £1.00 I can look past that. Next thing to do is to test the lasting power and experimentation with other lip products. I bought this from Superdrug.

MUA Intense Kisses Lipgloss: Quick Kiss
This is a coral pink colour that is quite opaque and best of all non-sticky. I hate having my hair sticking to my lips, so the fact that I found out these were non-sticky I slipped this one into my basket without a second thought. I can't wait to test this out and report back to you guys as I'm sure some of you feel the same way I do about sticky lipglosses and this could be an absolute god send, especially for the price of £2.00! I bought this from Superdrug but you can also get this from the MUA site too.

Rimmel Kate lipstick in shade 16

Rimmel Kate Lipstick: Shade 16
This is another coral pink colour except a bit more pink than coral. This is supposed to be non-matte and it is completely opaque. The packaging is very sleek and easy to sling in your handbag to use everyday. I bought this for £5.49 from Superdrug but there is a 2 for £10 across the Rimmel range if your interested to test this out yourself while paying a bit less for it.

Rimmel moisture renew in Piccadilly pink

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick: Piccadilly pink 150
The packaging that you see for this one is actually the old packaging but this doesn't bother me (I do prefer the new one though). This is a slightly darker pink with a lovely moisturising texture that I love. I also love the smell of these lipsticks as they smell slightly perfumed. I got this for just £1.50 from Fragrance Direct (RRP: £5.00) Could not find this shade in Boots or Superdrug.

MUA Complexion Primer Matte
I have heard good things about this face primer but when I went to pick this up from Superdrug I was surprised by how little product there was (15ml). This product however should be able to keep me looking matte all day and help my make-up stay put. I can't wait to put this to the test! I feel for the amount of product you get for the price of £4.00 by MUA's standards is a little bit more expensive than usual but this could an amazing product. Will have to wait and see...

I hope you guys enjoyed the last section of this haul! Please leave comments down below if you have tried any of these products as I am eager to know what you guys think.

Beauty Haul Part Two!

Hello wonderful people!

I am doing another (unexpected) haul, so essentially this is part two with skin and hair care and the second being the make-up side of the haul in another blog post.

Section 1

Hair care and skincare
 Huggies Natural Care Wipes
This is a strange purchase for me but I bought this based on the fact that many other beauty bloggers have said that baby wipes can be just as good as normal facial wipes... and I have to agree! They are cheaper, you get more in a pack, and the wipes are bigger. I generally use face wipes when a) I'm not wearing waterproof make-up and b) I'm too tired to take off my make-up properly. I bought this from Superdrug on offer for 99p RRP:£2.49.

Ted Baker Body Scrub
When I bought this, I was actually rushed due to my boyfriend's continues whining; "Are you done?", "Can we go now", and  "Just choose one already". So I grabbed this without actually doing any back ground reading. After buying this I read up online that it leaves a greasy feeling on your skin, but I hope this isn't the same with me. I bought this from Boots for £8.00.

Cyclax Moistura Replenishing Night Cream
I bought this on a whim that I needed a night cream in order to combat the dry patches on my face. I have combination skin so I didn't want to try a heavy cream so I thought I would use this one... and it was cheap (I'm student... go figure). I bought this from Fragrance direct for £2.99 RRP: £4.75.

TRESemme Thermal Creations Style Creator Spray
I have already spoke about a similar product in my Empties blog post, I believe that these are the same products just different packaging. I bought this from Fragrance direct for £1.99 RRP: £5.50.

The Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Butter
These body butters I have heard so much about and how amazingly moisturising they are! So when I saw a massive sale sign promoting these body butters for just £5.00 from £13.00 I couldn't help but go grab this one which smells like passion fruit (obviously). However, I realised today that on the Body shop website you can get them for a further 40% of the sale price, leading to just £3.00 for these 200ml Body Butters!!!! I therefore picked up two more. If you are interested in this amazing offer click here. Use code: 19804 to get a further 40% off.

The Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Back Spray
I bought this because I'm getting a few spots appearing on my back again and I thought I would give this a go to help clear them up. Or this could be just another gimmick, which I hope it isn't as it seems really good judging by the reviews on Boots. I bought this for £4.99.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive advanced SPF 50+
I bought this obviously due to the sun actually being out in England so I thought I might as well protect my skin from sunburn and the ageing that the sun rays bring. I read recently that you should be wearing sunscreen all year round as the sun rays can still penetrate your skin even in the Winter! I think I may start to wear sun cream all year round, but perhaps just on my face and neck as most other areas are covered in other seasons. Another fun fact to know is that make-up or creams that say they have just SPF in them will not protect you from UVA rays (ageing and cancer causing rays) or infrared light (ages the skin also). If you want to protect yourself from all rays, pick up a cream with the words 'high UVA protection' or 'broad spectrum'. UVB will only stop you from burning. I got this cream from Superdrug for £3.23 RRP: £6.49.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Beauty Haul!!!

Hello wonderful people!

I apologise for my absent post last week but I had quite a few things to do in general life, (as you all probably know all too well yourselves) BUT to make up for it I have a haul post!

Overall photo
As I have got quite a lot to talk about I'm going to do in two sections...

Section 1

Sleek blushes in 'Flamingo' and 'Pixie pink'
Starting from the left, we have two sleek blushes in Flamingo (darker shade) and Pixie Pink (lighter shade). I can not wait to try these as they are such beautiful colours, Flamingo being a matt, bright, 'pop of pink' colour and Pixie Pink being a matt bright bubble gum pink. Sleek blushes are known for there silkiness and super pigmentation so I can't wait to start using these! I bought them both from Superdrug for just £4.49 each!

Stila Blush in 'all you need is love'
This is a beautiful blusher with lovely shades of pink and a gold over-spray on top of the letters. When these shades are mixed it produces a beautiful brink pink colour, very pigmented and probably one of the silkiest blushes I own. It is so pretty I almost don't want to touch it, but admire it. I bought this from Feel Unique for £12.

Borghese Nail Lacquer in 'Plumaggio Purple' and 'Patina Pearl' and Borghese Brilliante 'Base and Top coat'
These came in a nice little trio together with Plumaggio Purple that looks like a shimmery plum colour in the bottle, however when I tested this on one nail it was more of a deep blue with plum purple undertone. The Patina Pearl polish was definitely a sheer pearly shimmer colour that is great for just adding that extra something to a plain nail. The base and top coat will hopefully make the nail polishes last longer and give my nails a nice finish. I got these on sale in TK maxx for just £4.99.

TIGI Bed Head 'Elasticate' Shampoo and Conditioner
I bought this shampoo and conditioner in order to improve the condition of my hair and to also promote hair growth. These are protein based, so I am a little bit worried that these will make my hair worse by putting too much protein into my hair, however when looking at reviews of these products it seems it will do wonder's for hair... we shall see! I got the shampoo for £12.99 for a 750ml bottle (BARGAIN) and the conditioner for £11.99 for a 750ml bottle (again, BARGAIN) from Fragrance Direct.

Rimmel London Glam'eyes quad in 001 'Smokey Noir'
These little quad's I have found to be quite handy and okay in quality. I do like the colours in this palette which is matt black, shimmery dark grey, shimmery light grey and a shimmery silver. I can't wait to test this out as I do love my smokey eye looks! I got this for £2.25 from Fragrance Direct.

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water
This is actually a re-purchase because I am in love with this product! I have combination to oily skin and this has done wonders for keeping most of those spots and blackheads at bay (I say most as one or two have fought their way through). This is also so refreshing on the skin! A 250g bottle retails for £7.50, however I got this and another Lush product in exchange for my Celestial cream as the ingredients separated after only having it for a couple of months, plus it was too greasy for my skin and I ended having breakouts.

Barry M: Silk Nail paint in 'Heather' and Gelly Hi-Shine Nail paint in 'Huckleberry'
I LOVE barry M nail polishes and I really liked the look of these. Huckleberry is a pastel blue colour with a shiny finish and Heather is a beautiful pastel lilac colour with a matt finish. Such beautiful spring/summer colours! I got these for £3.99 each from Superdrug.

Section 2
L'Oreal paris Telescopic mascara in 'Magnetic Black'
I love the L'Oreal Voloume Million lashes Noir Excess so I thought I would give another L'Oreal mascara a go too. I can't wait to see the results and if it is any better. I got this in a 3 for 2 deal in Boots but it is retailed at £10.99.

Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm in 'On Fire'
This is a lovely red/pink colour, with a lovely glossy finish so not too drying on my lips. I got this for £5.99 at Boots.

Maybelline New York Eye studio Gel Liner 24H in 'Black'
I couldn't help but test this straight away! I found it is so easy to use, great pigmentation and lasted till I took it off which was 12 hours later. AMAZING PRODUCT!! It also comes with its own gel liner brush. Has been called a dupe to the Mac and Bobbi Brown gel liners, some beauty guru's have said that it is even better! I got this for £7.99 from Boots.

Rimmel ScandalEyes: eye shadow stick in 'Bulletproof Beige' and waterproof Kohl Kajal in 'Nude'
These both looked so enticing! The nude eye pencil will be great for days I want a more natural look and will open my eyes more. The eye shadow stick is a beautiful colour when swatched but when I tried to test it on my eyelids the product didn't distribute evenly... maybe a bit more practise with it is required... and lots of blending? I got the Eye shadow stick for £4.49 and the Kajal eye pencil for £3.99 at Superdrug.

Thanks for reading and tell me if you have used any of these products and your thoughts about them.

Product Empties Review!!

From the left: Moroccan oil moisture repair conditioner, Moroccan oil moisture repair shampoo,  Moroccan oil moisture intense hydrating mask, S-factor diamond dreams shampoo, S-factor diamond dreams conditioner, Aussie 3 minute miracle, TRESemme iron style & hold spray.
Hello wonderful people!

So here is my first empties video, containing only hair products. I tend to use these kind of products up faster than anything else, so here they are empty... or very nearly empty anyway.

Moroccan oil moisture repair shampoo and conditioner

Moroccan oil has recently been hyped about all over Blogs and Youtube video's by beauty guru's as the new 'miracle' treatment for damaged and dry hair. I was really looking forward to using these products after using the Moroccan oil treatment, however I found myself a bit disappointed with these two products. The shampoo is supposed to be a 'cleansing, fortifying formula that helps to rebuild damaged hair' as says on the bottle. However, yes I did feel the cleansing qualities but not so much the rebuilding of my damaged hair. Firstly the smell of the products I really like and the even though they are sulphate free the shampoo lathers really well and I could easily run a brush through my hair after using both the shampoo and conditioner (which is saying a lot). However my hair felt rather dry after using the shampoo but the conditioner did soften my hair and made it feel silky smooth, this however was probably down to the silicone in the products. Now that I have finished using them I can tell you that I don't feel much long term benefits from the products and therefore I am quite disappointed and my hair felt weighed down the whole time using them. At the price I paid at my hairdresser's which was just over £20 per bottle I feel a little bit ripped off. I really wouldn't recommend these in less you have money to burn (or wash down a drain in this case). Overall I would rate these a 6/10. I felt the oil treatment did so much more for my damaged hair and worth the high price tag. These... not so much.

Moroccan oil moisture intense hydrating mask

This product from the Moroccan oil range I did like. Again it has that lovely classic Moroccan oil smell but I could actually feel it work in my hair. My hair was silky soft after using it and texture is very thick but washes out very well, so no product residue is left. Again it has a lot of silicone and some of the worst such as dimethicone so my hair does feel coated and weighed down. The strength of my hair feels a bit better but no where near as much as I was hoping. I probably was expecting a lot from this product, considering the reputation and the price, however it did feel it was doing some good when being used. I feel as though my TIGI S-factor serious conditioner does just as well if not better and for about £10 cheaper and for more product I will defiantly be repurchasing it rather than the Moroccan oil one. Overall this product did not blow me away but was quite good. However for the price I don't feel its worth repurchasing again. I give it a 7/10.

S-factor diamond dreams shampoo and conditioner

Firstly this shampoo and conditioner claims to provide 'brilliant shine, ultra hydration, superior strength, antioxidant power and superior manageability' plus it smells like strawberries and cream. I really like this shampoo and conditioner as my hair feels very soft and radiant. It does feel as though my hair is kept in good condition long enough until my next visit the hairdressers (every 3 months) which is exactly what I want. This did generally what it said on the tin (the description is a little bit exaggerated) and for the price I paid I was very happy as I got it on offer on Amazon for £27.53 for both the shampoo and conditioner in salon size bottles of 750ml each. This has lasted me 9 months which is a bargain. This however is not a penetrative shampoo and conditioner so I didn't expect miracles. Overall I give this a 7.5/10

Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor deep conditioner

This deep conditioner I actually used on a daily basis as I personally think it is in between a conditioner and deep treatment. The smell is amazing as it smells like bubble gum and has a thick texture but is easy to wash out. My hair feels ridiculously soft and my tangle teezer just glides through my hair after using it. The price of this wonderful product is just £4.99 at boots (usually on offer for 3 for 2) however this doesn't feel penetrative so again I personally wouldn't expect miracles from this and I personally wouldn't use it as my deep treatment conditioner. Overall I give this a 7/10.

TRESemme thermal creations iron style and hold spray

As far as I know this product has received mixed reviews but I however LOVE IT! It claims to protect your hair but also add some hold. I use this on damp hair before I blow dry it (I tip my head upside down and give it a zap with the dryer) and afterwards my hair is full of volume! This also protects my hair well from the heat. This however doesn't last long (a couple of hours) but with a bit of hairspray its good to go all day. The only other cons of this product is that the spray pump provided in the bottle isn't very good at distributing the product evenly and the product itself can be a little sticky but once dry is fine. Overall I give this a product a 8/10.

I know this was a lengthy post but I hope you guys enjoyed my first empties blog post and gave you some insight into these products.

Makeup Revolution Baked Blushes

Hello wonderful people!!

I'm back again with some more blushers for you guys (I swear I'm addicted) and this time these have to be my bargain blushers. The reason being... the amazing quality... and the price. Below you can see the three blushes that I have bought from Makeup Revolution.

From left - centre - right 'All I think about is you' - 'Bang Bang you're dead' - 'Loved me the best'

First is 'All I think about is you' which is a lovely light salmon-y pink with some shimmer. This one is very pigmented and is a beautiful colour for people with light to medium skin tones, however it might be more of a highlighter for darker skin tones. The lasting power is okay which is a few hours maybe more if I used a face primer. (Will do an updated review possibly if that works)

Swatches of 'All I think about is you'. Just one swipe used. In natural light.

Next one is 'Bang Bang you're dead' which again is pigmented and this one is a light pink with some shimmer as well. This is a lovely colour for light skin tones, however maybe more of a highlighter for medium and dark skin tones. Again the lasting power is a few hours maybe more with a face primer.

Swatches of 'Bang Bang you're dead'. Just one swipe used. In natural light. On the hand swatch you can see 'All I think about is you' on the left and 'Bang Bang you're dead' on the right.

Last but CERTAINLY not least is 'Loved me the best' which is an amazingly pigmented peachy pink (try saying that ten times fast) with some shimmer. This can be great for light skin tones (as it is not too peachy), medium and maybe darker skin tones, however it may be a highlighter for the darker skin tones. I am not an expert so have a swatch when you're next in superdrug to see if these suit your skin tone, sometimes you have to base it more on your own opinion :-) The lasting power on this one I personally think is a tiny bit better at it lasted into the 4 hour mark.

Swatches of 'Loved me the best'. Again, just one swipe used. In natural light. On the hand, swatch from left to right, you can see 'All I think about is you', 'Bang Bang you're dead' and 'Loved me the best'.

As you can see these baked blushers are very pigmented and quite shimmery, giving you a lovely glow. The lasting power is okay but for the wonderful price of £2.50 (yes, you read that right), it is a complete bargain and these are fast becoming some of my favourite shimmery blushes. You can order these online from Superdrug and Makeup Revolution or you can go into a Superdrug store to test them out yourselves and there are six different shades to choose from. There is also a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug lasting till 3/06/14 which makes them an even better bargain, one that I certainly couldn't refuse. Overall, I would give these 8/10.

My Favourite Blusher At The Moment https://www.google.co.uk/

Hello wonderful people!

So there is one certain blusher that I picked up by chance in Boots and now I wear it nearly everyday! This is the Revlon blusher in Haute pink, number 002 and is absolutely stunning.

It is a beautiful soft pink colour with a silky feel that provides your cheeks with a natural looking flush and a little bit of a shimmer. It is quite pigmented but not too much but you can easily build it up to your desired strength without it looking caked on.
Swatch with flash

Swatch without flash (this is not in natural light)

Swatched from my finger to my hand (I built it up a bit)

I love this blush and it is a total favourite of mine at the moment and I don't consider it expensive at £7.99 at boots considering the quality. However the only  negative I can think of is that the lasting power is good but not great, basically it only lasts on my face for a couple hours. However I do have oily/combination skin so it might be due to that.

Overall I would rate this 8/10 :)

Hope you guys liked my post!

Love
Sarah (i.e. LiveLoveLaugh with beauty)
