Make-up Revolution palettes... Part 2

Hello wonderful people!!

Today I will be talking about the make-up palette 'Romantic smoked', by makeup revolution.

From left to right: Redemption palette iconic 2,
Redemption palette romantic smoked,
Ultra blush palette sugar and spice

This is probably my least favourite of the three, but that's just down to personal preference.

One swipe, artificial lighting.
Two swipes, artificial light

Again like the last palette the colour pay off is quite good, however some of the lighter, more shimmery colours are harder to see. There is a slightly chalky texture and there is some fallout when worn, but with a good eye primer this can be fixed (or at least prolonged). This is a nice palette if you are looking to get a smoky eye with more purply-tones.

The colours are from bottom to top in the photo:
  1. A very light shimmery cream
  2. A lovely shimmery brown
  3. Light shimmery peach
  4. Khaki green
  5. Similar to number 3, but with a hint of brown
  6. More of a satin brown
  7. A matte nude-y pink
  8. Matte brown with green undertones
  9. A matte lilac
  10. A matte black
  11. Matte dark purple with grey under-tones
  12. Is a beige colour, but can't be seen on the second photo. So is shown in third photo on the left.
This can be found in Superdrug for a mere £4.00, so grab yours now... if you like it that is (or just go take a look at least).

I hope you enjoyed this well-overdue post.

Lots and lots of love from your busy blogger (that barely blogs, sorry!! Will get better!)

Make-up Revolution Palettes... Part 1

Hello wonderful people!

Today will be a blog post about one of these three Makeup Revolution palettes...

From left to right: Redemption palette iconic 2,
Redemption palette romantic smoked,
Ultra blush palette sugar and spice

Redemption palette iconic 2, Artificial light

The first one I will be reviewing is the Redemption Palette Iconic 2. This one is particularly interesting to blog about as many other bloggers have compared it to the Naked 2 palette... Unfortunately I can not do that comparison, as student finance do not support expensive makeup addiction, so I have to make do with gaining that kind of information from other bloggers. From what I have a read, the palette is very good dupe to the Naked 2, however the quality is not as close. The redemption palette eyeshadow's can be a little chalky and can have some fallout when worn, but with a good primer, this can easily be fixed. The colour pay-off is great and they can easily be blended with others just like the Naked palettes (I do own the Naked palette 3, so at least I know about the quality first hand) and the colours are very close to the Naked 2 (or so I've read by many).

I know the colours are not very prominent in the third photo, but I wanted you to see the exact colour pay-off. The forth photo was added as this colour was not coming up on camera, so I made the colour more prominent so you guys could see it.

There is a mix of 3 matte's and 7 shimmers and they are generally quite cold toned. In order from the first shade the colours go;
1. A matte creamy-peach colour. (Perfect for just under the brow bone and inner corner of the eye)
2. This is shimmery golden-brown colour.
3. Is a perfect champagne colour with a satin finish.
4. A beautiful copper-gold shimmer colour.
5. Matte pink tinged brown. (A bit more fall out from this colour and less pigmented)
6. A shimmery/metallic bronze shade.
7. Similar to the last, but with more silver shimmer in it rather than gold.
8. This is a silvery-brown/gunmetal colour. Shimmery, but verging on the side of metallic.
9. A shimmery brown-champagne colour.
10. Is a rosy-gold colour with brown hues. A lovely shimmer.
11. A satin finished, deep brown colour. (Found it to be a bit chalky)
12. Basic matte black. (Slightly chalky)

The price difference between this palette and the Naked 2 is quite considerable with the Naked 2 palette pricing at £38.00 (as sold in Debenhams) and this palette from Makeup Revolution either from Superdrug or the Makeup Revoloution site for £4.00. So if on a budget, this palette is great, but if you want to pay a lot more for a name and little bit more quality, Naked 2 palette for you would be best.

I hope you enjoyed this detailed post!

Lots of love

Valentines Day Nails

Hello wonderful people!

Today is Valentines Day, so I thought I should probably blog something appropriate... So I have for you a very sweet, but simple, girly nail look...

L'Oreal colour riche nail polish in 207 Babydoll
This is a beautiful pearly baby pink, which is just perfect for Valentines Day as it is just so sweet and girly. It will also be perfect for the spring weather as well! It glides on so well, dries quickly and does not chip easily! However, I did find that it does need 3 coats to look really opaque, but if you're in a rush, 2 coats would do nicely.

I bought this from Fragrance Direct for 99p. However, when I last looked they were not available any more but you can get it for £4.99 from both Boots and Superdrug. It is also currently on sale on Amazon for £2.50, just click here to be redirected.

I just feel so elegant when I wear this and have received so many compliments!

Hope you guys have a lovely day!

Love from
